POSSIBLE NOVA IN SCORPIUS H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, reports that Akira Takao,
Kitakyushu, Japan, has discovered a possible nova (mag 7.4) on
unfiltered CCD images taken with a 120-mm telephoto lens on Aug.
3.583 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 17h29m18s, Decl. =
-31o46'.0 (equinox 2000.0; uncertainty about 5"). Nothing was
visible on his previous images (limiting magnitudes: July 18.637,
[11.9; 30.569, [10.8). An ASAS-3 image taken on Aug. 2.071 also
shows this new object at V = 9.9, though the previous ASAS-3 images
show nothing at this position (most recently on July 26.271). No
known x-ray or bright infrared source is catalogued at this position. 7等的新星算不算少見呢?
新星亮度一般可維持多久?
