Ideally, planning is something you take slowly—it's the time when your dream and enthusiasm for your futuretelescope meld into a plan that you know will workDuring that time, you decide how big yourtelescope should be, How you will build it, and how you will use it when it’sready for the star. You maybe tempted to rush ahead—go ahead, be tempted—but slow downand really study this chapter. After all, don’t you want to know what you aregetting into？Let's begin with a little scenario. It’sthe evening after a long day at work. Dinner is over and you’re at home sittingon your comfortable living room sofa. The afternoon clouds and the sky hasturned sparkling clean. Now—do you have theenergy haul that dream telescope of yours to a dark site? Are you ready to setup in the dark? Do you feel enthusiasm about making fifty trips up and down a12-foot stepladder? How do you anticipate feeling on the long drive back home?Do you think you’ll feel guilty when youwonderful big telescope collects dust instead of starlight？What does your spouse think of your nutty fascination with telescope？You’d better think about that one carefully, because your spouse’s attitudemakes a big difference in the satisfaction you gain from astronomy.It sounds like we are trying to discourageyou, rest assured that we are not. Rather, we want you to think about whatbuilding a telescope will mean to your life. We would rather see you happy witha small telescope than miserable with a big one. So our advice to you is this: if you arethe least bit apprehensive, stick with a telescope under 18 inches aperture. Ifyou have serious doubts, then build an 8-inch or 10-inch telescope. Smallscopes are easier to use, and if you find your interest building toward theobsession level, then you can always go bigger. The point is to build a scopethat is easy for you to use, and then explore the universe with it.So much for the Zen of telescope making. Ifyou decide to build a telescope, Section 2.3 of this chapter is very important.Why? We tell you in what sequence you should order, build, and assemble thecomponents of your telescope. Other chapter give you the details of how tocarry out the various steps of construction, but here you learn what to buildfirst, what next, and so on. Now we know that you can build a telescope any wayyou please and we can’t do anything about it, but the reason we wrote this bookwas to save you a lot of time and trouble. Study thoughtfully and we think youwon’t regret it.

做望远镜是一门艺术。如果你决定要做一台望远镜，那本章的2.3节是很重要的。为什么呢？因为我们会告诉你如何按步骤购买、加工和组装望远镜的各个部件。其它章节会为你介绍各个步骤的细节，但这里你会学到先做哪个，再到哪个，按部就班。当然我们知道你可以任性不按常理出牌，我们干预不了，但我们写这本书的理由，就是要帮你节省时间，少走弯路。深入学习本书，我们认为你不会后悔的。
心得：很抱歉，未能进入正题，在耐心等等，第一章我已经略过了很多内容，以后有机会再填坑，但我觉得这些内容还是值得分享一下的，不仅是DIY，买成品镜子也一样，花钱之前先问自己一系列的问题，而且回答时别太自信，真的，别太自信，这很重要但很难做到，尽量吧。分享一下QQ群里看到的一个图表，请看下图：略微夸张，但基本符合现实，然而普通版中间的“不存在”偶尔存在时，一大半会因“懒”而被忽略掉。懒无贬义，毕竟很多时候我们休息的时间也是很珍贵的，不知能否做到一边观星一边放松。好像也挺难的……终极版暂时无解，想方设法拉领导进坑吧。
