A vast cloud of neutral gases and dust can be found in the constellation of Perseus. Only a part of it can be seen in this long exposure image ( 5.5 hours). Because of the lack of bright and hot and nearby stars not much ionization is going on, but there are still some muted colors from ionized hydrogen and oxygen.
In the lower right corner NGC1333 can be found, where blue light of young and hot stars is reflected by the surrounding dust. The tiny red objects nearby are Herbig-Haro objects, where ejected gases from newly born stars collide with surrounding material
