Before the sun rise when Iwas taking some photo frome Venus, suddenly I saw a really beautiful meteor which passed near that shining planet. It was an enjoyble end for my Geminid meteor shower observation.
Photo details: Canon EOS 400D, exposure time 30s , ISO 1600

Tonight I've watched for an hour from my light polluted back yard for Geminids. I saw 4 or 5 meteors. The one, which I captured was a very bright and long. Too bad a tree prohibited me to see him all the way through (How many times I've told my husband do not plant so many trees in our back yard). The comet is also at the image. Could you see her?
Photo details: Canon XTI, 18 mm Sigma lens F1.8 ISO 800 for 15"

Since my local weather forecast is for clouds during the peak of the Geminids I decided to play the statistics and hope for an early glimpse of the meteor shower. So, I setup my camera to automatically take a 30 second exposure every 2 seconds for as long as my battery would last. Starting at 12:34 a.m. my one and only recording of a meteor occurred at 1:08 a.m.
Photo details: Nikon D200 camera, ISO 200, 30s exposure.

I was blessed with clear skys and the best Geminids I have seen for 30 years. I did not keep a running count since I was busy taking pictures. Instead I counted the time between meteors in seconds and rarely got over 30 seconds and feel I averaged a meteor every 10 seconds or less. I would rate it somewhere between a shower and a storm. I will be interested to hear reports from Asia during the peak. 好图,漂亮啊~

Cold and mostly clear, an average of 15-20 per hour from midnight till 3:30am PST. 2 Nikon D200s, one with a 10.5mm f2.8, one with a 35mm f2.0 and a Nikon D2H with an 85mm f1.4. Exposures of 6 seconds at 1250 ISO. My favorite, although it is the hardest to see is the meteor track just below Orion's belt.

Observed from the roof of my suburban Tucson home. Visually the shower was very good - often times I would see 3 to 4 members per minute. Photographically the metoers seemed fairly faint and therefore were difficult to capture.
注意这三张图的信息 ^-^

I was photographing geminid meteor shower and got one pretty nice shot with comet Holmes & a geminid fireball. In about one hour I counted some 30 meteors before clouds blocked my view. 不知道哪一颗是我看到过的呢??
真漂亮啊

第二张的红线是在第一张的基础上用手工画的吗?流星的轨迹不该直接穿过辐射点吧?
