Camera Setup:
o Set to “M”, change exposure time to bulb
o In the menu, set the file format to RAW
o In the menu, set the PC Remote Settings (Setup 4) to PC+Camera
o Set your ISO
o Turn off all auto focus functions
o Connect the camera to the PC
• Download x64 ASCOM software if you have not
• Download x64 Sony ASCOM Driver
o Read the supporting data; save the website
o Important – Save the Read Me file - Usefule for trouble shooting
o https://github.com/d...meraDriver/wiki
• Open ASCOM Diagnostics
o Choose Device
o Choose and Connect Device (first option for me)
o Select Device Type: Camera
o Select Choose: Sony Mirrorless Camera (in pull down menu); OK
o Mark check box: Connect to Retrieve Properties (optional)
o Select Properties: Select ok with pop up
o In properties window:
Double check camera info
Select Save RAW files; set file location
Select Live View (note: I have not got this to work yet)
Click OK
o Here is where it gets weird. Sometimes connect works, sometimes it locks the app. However, it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I don't think it is even required.
• Open NINA, set profile if you want
o Go to camera; Sony should now be there (might need to hit rescan for device)
o Connect camera
o Test fire your camera; mine works.
o After the first connection, I don’t have to open any ASCOM windows. I go straight to NINA. |
