My best guess is something in the EQ6 - GM11 category, i.e 50-75lb load capacity
作者对比，DIY的赤道仪有EQ6, GM11级别，50-75磅载重。
作者买的材料: - 2x 30mm ID 62mm OD twin row angular contact bearings (SKF) about £20 each.
- 2x 30mm ID 62mm OD twin row self aligning bearings (SKF) about £15 each.
- 1m 30mm OD shaft steel from RS about £50
- About a dozen 10mm Oilite bronze bushes, about a quid each.
- Meade DS motor kit with Autostar control.er (about £50 from a friend)
- 4 timing pulleys and 2 timing belts for drive transmission ・about £30
- A large number of M16, M12, M10 , M8 and M5 nuts, bolts, washers, fixings, studding etc. There are several hundred such items, so it adds up. (no idea £30 ???)
- Lots of tins of paint (£25)
- Red anodising dye (£10)
- Various lubricants (£10)
- 8 shaft collars ・about £25
- Metal stock, aluminium bar and plate, silver steel round bar etc (no idea, c. £150)
- Lots of sanding, polishing and lapping materials (£20)
- Many bits items have been begged, borrowed, donated, pinched or scavenged. E.g. the 120mm OD bearing upon which the whole thing sits.
- Two sandwich cake tins. £5 (since you ask, also known as prefabricated worm wheel covers).
这是在英国的买的成本£350-£500，作者不在乎省钱，而满足于DIY过程，
对于结果是更好还是更糟，作者开工前没有考虑。
但结果还是出乎意料的，30分钟不拉线，，周期误差20角秒，以前作者未尝试过。
