据英国《每日邮报》3月14日报道，英国东部港市多佛市的著名地质景点-多佛白岩近日因极端天气发生大面积坍塌，导致重约数千吨、面积相当于一个足球场的巨块石灰石掉进大海中，堆成一座小山。专家认为，坍塌是因为雨水流入干旱期裂开的石缝，在近期的严寒天气中结冰膨胀，导致这块巨石逐渐松动，最终与悬崖脱离。地质演变需要历经几万年直至上亿年，能够有幸看到著名地质公园瞬间的变迁，极其壮阔的跃动，让然留下深刻印象。
