编者按：
图片来自全球著名图片新闻网站的《大西洋月刊》旗下的《焦点》，以及《纽约时报》集团旗下的《波士顿环球》（the Boston Globe）的《波士顿大图》网（创办于2008年，The Big Picture - Boston.com，全球最富盛名的图片新闻网站）。这两个图片新闻网站的选题和风格比较类似，都是全球顶尖的图片新闻网站。
《大西洋月刊》是美国最受尊敬的杂志之一，一本有关文学、政治、科学与艺术的杂志，第一期出版于1857年11月。《大西洋月刊》坚持无党派、无偏见原则，对于任何事物采取一种超然、充满智力性、幽默的、有艺术感的态度。它拒绝将自己置于任何派系中，但它将永远会与拥戴自由、国家进步、荣誉这种信念的人在一起。
《大西洋月刊》（www.theatlantic.com ）的“In Focus”专栏，是原《波士顿大图》的编辑，美国历史学家Alan Taylor于2011年转投《大西洋月刊》之后创办的。Taylor保持了他的一贯风格，继续以现场照片专辑的方式，从不同角度反映着热点新闻，成为新的全球著名图片新闻网站。
