These two baby squirrels poked their heads nervously out their nest in a tree hollow before darting back inside.
To be fair, they probably weren't expecting one of their first forays outside to be met by the lens of a camera.
But amateur photographer Jimmy Adams, 60, had waited patiently for the squirrel 'kittens' to show themselves after he became aware of the youngsters in the nest on his father's small farm in Kellyville, Oklahoma.

These two adorable baby squirrels were born on a small farm in Kellyville, Oklahoma
Father of five Mr Adams said: 'These were two out of five young squirrels in this nest. I had been watching them play for a while before they spotted me.
'They ran into the hole but couldn't resist taking a look at me. So they just popped out like this and sat there watching me until I finally left.
'The hole is one of the entrances to their nest. They always duck into the hole when frightened. Once they saw me they headed for the hole.In some ways it looks as if the squirrels are stuck in the hole but that is not the case. I had seen them go into the hole before.'
