This is unfortunately right on the mark; we have been logging the comet at CCD
magnitude 15.9 (m1) for nearly a month now; there had been a slight brightening
to mag. 15.4 in January but the comet has decreased both in magnitude and even
the overall coma size; once the tail developed from a small truncated coma
(appearing like a little "PacMan Ghost" on its side, the comet diminished in
brightness and the overall size of its very dense coma dropped slightly. http://www.arksky.org/php/ctable.php
The tail is now extending 23" arc seconds and tapering rapidly towards its end,
this an increase in length over the previous week.
