Dear Yan,
Yes, this is the correct email address to use. All the SOHO comet reports should be reported at http://ares.nrl.navy.mil/sungrazer
I have looked at your reports below, and they are not comets. The comets we see in the LASCO C3 images move *much* more slowly than the positions you give, and they move in an almost perfect straight line. It is very rare to see a curve on the comets' path.
When we get newcomers such as yourself, I always offer some standard advice to help. First, If you haven't done so already, I strongly recommend you read Sebastain Hoenig's tutorial (see "Other Links" page) on SOHO comet hunting. To familiarize yourself with the size and motion of SOHO comets you should look at the " hoto Gallery" page. A common mistake is that people assume a comet will be bright and have a tail. This is *very* rarely the case. The vast majority of our comets are small star-like objects, often only 2 or 3 pixels wide, that move only a few pixels per hour. In fact we get many people mistaking stars for comets -- it's worth remembering that stars move horizontally in the LASCO field of view -- comet DO NOT! Out of the 763 comets we have, I have only seen one that moved almost horizontally. Most SOHO comets belong to the Kreutz group. These comets always appear in the lower part of the images and move towards the Sun. Their approach angle varies a bit throughout the year (see http://www.ph.u-net.com/comets/c2paths.htm).
I will add your name to the list of comet hunters on the "Found Something" page. I recommend you look at other people's reports to see the way they do it, and also read the instruction page:
http://ares.nrl.navy.mil/sungrazer/instruct.html
Please feel free to email me with any questions. You can use sungrazer@nrl.navy.mil or karl.battams@nrl.navy.mil -- either is fine.
如果有什么问题,请不要犹豫来联系我,你可以使用 sungrazer@nrl.navy.mil 或者 karl.battams@nrl.navy.mil,两个都行。
Best Regards,
~~Karl
