Web Sites
It is certainly easy to get lost on the Internet. There is much to see in the electronic
gabfest. All I can do is provide some of my favorites and hope that they prove useful
to you also. This is not in any order.
www.saguaroastro.org
This is the web site of the Saguaro Astronomy Club. It contains a free download of
the SAC database, lots of information on the brightest 10,000 deep sky objects
around the sky.My notes are also available.
www.cloudynights.com
Astronomics is nice enough to sponsor this web site. Obviously they wish to sell
you something, but much of the information is free. I have been writing deep sky
articles here for some time and the most recent and past articles are available.
http://www.relex.ru/~zalex/main.htm
This is the site for Starcalc, a simple planetarium program.
http://www.hnsky.org/software.htm
This is the site for HNSky, an excellent freeware planetarium program.
http://www.blackskies.org/links.html
This is Doug Snyder’s nebula web site; it is a direct path to the “links” page. It contains
lots of great URL links to astronomy information of all types.
http://www.messier45.com
This is the Deep Sky Browser, a very useful resource that will allow you to create
many types of observing lists for all types of deep sky objects. You can keep busy
here for many lifetimes.
