[新闻] 寻彗英雄周兴明先生去世

Very bad news. Please read the attached.
据悉，我国重量级资深业余天文学家，发现SOHO彗星最多的中国爱好者（国际
排名第四），《天文爱好者》杂志编委周兴明于2004年8月4日晚在福建连城
遭遇车祸，于2004年8月5日凌晨5时抢救无效去世。在此，谨代表中国天文
学会普及工作委员会及全国所有天文同好，向周兴明的去世表示沉痛的哀悼，
并向周兴明的家属表示深切的慰问！

Thank you for passing the information along. This is indeed extremely
sad news. XingMing Zhou was one of the best and most successful SOHO
comet hunters -- in fact 5 of the last 8 SOHO comets were discovered
by him. Very sad.
