The TS 130 mm F/860 mm Super Apo Refractor offers a very high imaging quality. Even at harsh contrasts, no blue fringing is visible.
The mechanical side is manufactured in high quality too. Its CNC machined OTA offers three back focus levels in order to bring any accessories into focus. It´s equipped with the exceptionell TS 3" rack & pinion focuser offering nearly similar quality as the renown Starlight Feather Touch.
It is suitable for visual observation and astro imaging also. With the moderate f-number of 6.62, a fast system for photography is achieved. Its speed can be raised to f/4.97 using the Riccardi Reducer. Other reducers and flatteners can be used too. On the other hand, visual magnifications of up to 300x can be used without loosing optical performance.
General characteristics:
Fast three element system with FPL 53 in a temperature compensated cell.
CNC Tube (aluminium) with internal baffling system with three available back focus positions.
TS rack & pinion focuser with 1:10 dual speed and 360° rotation.
CNC tube rings, transport case.
The 3" focuser
This 3" rack & pinion focuser comes close to the Starlight Feather Touch quality. It is intended for heavy payloads up to approx. 6 kgs. A focus motor is available as an option.
Technical details of the focuser:
Camera side connections: M82x1, M68x1 (Zeiss), 2" and 1.25" receptacle
Travel: 114 mm with scale
Free aperture: 77 mm with anti reflex thread
CNC tube with three back focus options:
The CNC machined metal tube is very versatile. Its retractable dew cap can be secured with a locking screw. The internal baffles are in matte black supressing all possible reflections. Two screw-off segments offer three back focus distances without compromising the collimation. Their main advantage is an always optimal focus position without vignetting caused by unnecessary extension tube behind the focuser.
Shortest position (no extension ring): For the M82 Riccardi Reducer and for binoviewers without glass path corrector. Even with a 2" diagonal, they can be brought into focus.
Middle position (one extension ring): For the TS 2.5" full size flattener
Longest position (both extension rings): For visual observation with 2" diagonal and lunar/planetary imaging.
Photographical use with two focal lengths (optional):
645 mm focal length (f/4.97) with Riccardi Reducer
Using the Riccardi 0.75x reducer, the resulting focal length is 645 mm. Sensors up to 42 mm diameter are fully illuminated. The reducer is screwed to the M82 thread of the focuser using an TSM78-M82 adapter. Both tube extension segments have to be removed. The optimal back focus from the M82 thread to the focal plane is 77.4 mm.
860 mm focal length (f/6.6) with 2.5" full size flattener
This flattener illuminates even full size sensors by 100%. No adapters are necessary, the flattener fits directly into the focuser. One tube segment has to be screwed off. The optimal back focus from the M69 female thread to the focal plane is 88 mm. |
