C/2006 A1 (Pojmanski)

2006 Feb 5.76  m1= 6.35: , Dia = 3.1' , DC=6?,  25x100mm B
 Kearn Jones (Mt Pleasant)

Faint but steady thin tail stretching to around .5 deg. or slightly
more at times, with the first 11' or so the brightest, at PA 191. A
hint of a fan also the western edge near base, connected with brighter
section.
 Had trouble with DC as it doesnt exactly match my chart?. Comet looked
like condensed globular cluster with its very small fainter outer coma.
m1 was slightly brighter in 20x80's B.
Comet at  ~13 d. elevation at reasonably dark sky site. Possibly at
times head seemed green in colour?.

看了一下Carte du Ciel，发现2月27日凌晨2006A1离目视星等为3.01的摩羯座β很近.28日凌晨又离摩羯座ν很近.角距大家可以通过球面三角算算.

2006 Feb. 5.83 UT: m1=6.8, Dia.=4', DC=7...20x80B...Andrew Pearce
(Nedlands,Western Australia)[First observation of this comet due to
it's very difficult position low in the southern sky which can't be
readily accessed from my location.  Very bright and well condensed
comet and no obvious sign of any tail, although the brighter sky would
preclude spotting any faint tail if present.]

Kearn Jones (Mt.Pleasant)

Short faint tail around 20' at times in PA 194, comet has condensed
globular cluster appearance still. I thought I glimpsed flashes of
stronger brighter jet/ribbon looking part within the thin faint tail
that tapered sharply at end, not unlike C/2001 Q4 had at one time in
April 2004. Comet at around 13* altitude, from dark sky site.

[CometObs] Comet A1 Pojmanski

Hi All
I found the comet from St Kilda this morning low in the SE, in +4.8
skies.
In my 20x80mm, I could not make out the tail which was just visible in
darker skies in Swan Hill.
I also realised I did make an error with DC the other morning
DC is closer to 7-8, and the comet is very starlike and condensed
This morning I had the mag at +6.1 (in/out method)
Dia was also hard to judge,  as the comet is very condensed at the
centre, and difussed around the edges
Dia  3.1' ?

(Nedlands,Western Australia)[Strongly condensed coma which appears to
be getting smaller.  A faint tail was also visible, 22' long in PA 205
deg.]

2006 Feb. 9.85 UT: m1=6.0,  Dia.=3.3', DC=7, Con Stoitsis, Clonbinane,
(Victoria Australia) 20cm  45x, LM  in the SE  +5.7,  very faint tail
visible, 8' long, in PA 220 deg. Comet is bright and condensed. Comet
was not visible to naked eye.

2006 Feb 10.84:  m1 = 6.2   Dia = 4   DC = 6   25x100 B
Clear tail of 36' in PA 215 degrees, out to 50' at times.
Altitude 12 degrees, no correction for extinction.
Probably the last clear look before perihelion.
