Hi all,
I visually observed and photographed Comet McNaught during the daytime today
from New Zealand. It's a goal that's finally been achieved! (to see a comet
during the daytime). It was bright enough to be seen not only with the bright
Sun 14 degrees away but also to be seen through passing light cloud!!!

during the daytime! (2:30pm local time). Quite easy to see in the 16". Has a
tight, stellar nucleus and seems to be surrounded by a 'faint' small coma.
Closest visible star for a mag comparison was the SUN!!! No tail seen. 57藲 alt
in the NW (the Sun was 12藲 to the south). Stellar LM = ~3 near comet (scope),
rural sky]. Photo taken鈥?br>

A closer view using added stacking can be seen below. Is it my eyes or do I see
a VERY FAINT tail pointing down at about 7 O'clock? Am I crazy or what?
