Observation of III. Oc. D Jan 27, 2007.
Recorded time: 22:43:58.76 UTC
Individual error: 0.198s
Real time: 22:43:58.562 UTC
I happened to find that Jupiter would occult Ganymede at about 22:43 UTC according to the software Carte du Ciel, in spite of being a rough time, still enough for my preparing time. Jupiter was quivering due to the poor, estimated was about 3/5 Antonniadi, which had an effect on my observation while I began timing at 22:38.5 via my 0.10m-refractor, f/7, at 140x. A bright spot was entering the round face of Jupiter gradually and finally I could record the time when Ganymede disappeared. I checked the predicted time released in a French web called "Phénomènes des satellites galiléens de Jupiter - ANNEE 2007" afterwards that was 22:44. Another rough time again?? Anyhow my record was closer to the predicted one than before in spite of poorer circumstance.
Just want to share my experience.
